About me

Hi, I'm Helen, and I am passionate about working with people who are struggling with difficulties in their life and finding it hard to cope. 

Perhaps a loss has left you feeling distressed, unable to move forwards or there may be feelings of anxiety? Maybe you are finding life hard and wondering what to do about it... my aim is to help you navigate through these difficult times, and to help you reconnect with yourself.   

By exploring what is happening for you, looking at the issue from your point of view and then help you try to make sense of your life and move forwards.

My main areas of interest are:-

• Anxiety and Depression - providing you with a safe space to explore how you are feeling and to help you with strategies to take back control.

• Grief, loss and bereavement - I bring considerable experience in this area from personal experience, to working in a hospice setting and in the community with those experiencing life limiting illness or individuals who are grieving the loss of someone close. Grief and loss also cover things like loss of a job, a relationship, youth, the ageing process, menopause etc.

• Trauma - with first hand experience and also gained in domestic abuse I offer support for those trying to rebuild their lives and find peace in turbulent times.

  Helen has been an invaluable support to me. She created a truly calm and safe space with her knowledge and experience, offered me the tools I needed to move forward. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I can offer you a free initial phone consultation to see if we are a good fit to work together. I also offer sessions on an open ended basis, to an agreed time scale and with the aim to assist you to live your life to the full.

Sessions are £45.00

Low cost counselling

This is available to adults and young people who are on a low income. No GP referral necessary. Please free to ask.
